Located in Manorville NY, conveniently off Sunrise Highway we have a beautiful brand new state of the art digestive health center.
PA/NP must be able to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
This is an office-based position, Monday- Friday with daytime hours.
Candidates with experience as well as new graduates with a strong interest in gastroenterology are welcome to apply.
Qualifications:
Gastroenterology experience a plus but not required.
Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State, requirements of the state of jurisdiction.
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program - OR - Graduate of an accredited PA program or an accredited university.
DEA, Required.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with patients 16 and older.
Ability to communicate important health information effectively and compassionately.
Experience using diagnostic techniques to identify diseases and implement appropriate treatments.
Responsibilities:
You will provide healthcare services, under the supervision of a board-certified Gastroenterologist.
Assess patient health through consults/follow ups and physical examinations.
Provide counsel and medical treatment to patients.
Educate patients on overall Gastroenterology wellness and health maintenance.
Develop and implement patient management plans.
Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
Interprets laboratory and test results.
Confer with physician & staff to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
Inform patients of the necessary pre-procedure instructions and preparation instructions.
Telehealth visits.
Enter appropriate coding for billing of visits.
Perform related duties as required.
